Maximum Entropy Image Reconstruction Project

Project Reconstruction of 3D velocity districtutions from experimental ion images or electron images. Cylindrical symmetry of the velocity distribution is assumed, i.e., the images are the Abel transforms of the velocity distributions.
Programs

Three algorithms were implemented which find the "best" velocity distribution that agrees with the data. A maximum entropy criterion is used avoiding a numerically unstable inverse Abel transform.
MEVIR = maximum entropy velocity image reconstruction
MEVELER = maximum entropy velocity Legendre reconstruction
MELEXIR = maximum entropy Legendre expansion image reconstruction
